HISTORY:

Portal Systems Network, Incorporated (PSNI) officially began operation in August of 2002. It was formed by from the fusion of three independent Internet service providers who had been in operation from four to six years each before this and two other gentlemen who had helped start and grow another Pittsburgh area ISP to over 10,000 customers. All of these men brought over 100 years of experience in the Internet and computers together in one place.

Certainty Tech was formed September 1, 2000 as a partnership between two founding members who brought a combined total of 25 years of experience in computers and the Internet. The company started out offering computer and network services but decided to expand into the Internet services market. Seeing that there was a lot of room for improvement for Internet service in the local Sandy Lake and Meadville area the decision was made in February 2001 to start a new Internet service. On June 2, 2001 Certainty Tech Internet Service was born!

Both of these companies were melded together starting in January of 2005 under the new name of USAtek, Inc. Together we continue at the forefront with a variety of popular and high quality service offerings, unbeatable reliability, and great customer service.

PHILOSOPHY:

USAtek is structured so as to keep operating costs at a minimum while not compromising service. Sharing savings with our users and ensuring a high quality of services is what makes and keeps USAtek strong. To date PSNI has over 4500 satisfied customers. We are assured our users are satisfied by realizing that over 50% of our growth comes from referrals. USAtek has a unique operation in that we offer all of the benefits of huge ISPs with the convenience of small town providers. We strive for a personal relationship with our users while providing the back end support only found in larger "non-personalized" ISPs. Our users are not numbers, they are real people with real names and they are treated as extensions of our families. Our mission is to meet and exceed the needs of our customers at a price that is attractive, while delivering high speed and solid uptime.

OUR NETWORK:
We utilize only the most current custom built hardware and commercial software available for our servers. Our linux based software is custom configured and tailored specifically to meet the demands of our users. Our core servers are collocated in Pittsburgh with 100 Mbit connections to our peer providers. We have employed the vision that we will not settle for being second best. All of our hardware, software, and next tier services were chosen based upon quality, service and price.

COVERAGE:
Our current coverage for access originally included most of Western PA but now extends nationwide.

SERVICES:
From the bottom up, USAtek offers Dial-up (modem), Dual Modem (bonded), ISDN-BRI, DSL, Frame Relay, T-1, T-3, and Fiber connections to the Internet. We offer Web Page Hosting, E-mail Services, Server Side Virus Scanning, and Spam Reduction as a start. USAtek also offers custom built servers, in-office network support, custom software packages... if you have a computing need or an Internet need, we are your one stop shop. We strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
